The Dualtron Thunder offers a distinctive combination of power and speed in one beautiful package.
With a whopping 56 mp/h top speed, keeping up with this super-fast electric scooter is a challenge. To give an idea, that’s only 14 miles less than the speed limit of most highways (70 mp/h)! Fastest Electric Scooter Dualtron Thunder 2021 Review
The Dualtron Thunder is undoubtedly one of the fastest electric scooters available globally and one of the most capable; it offers an incredible range of 120km and tackles steep inclines up to 35 degrees. That’s more than double the range of most eScooters today. Climb steep hills easily, the Dualtron Thunder’s twin 5400W motors will never tire and make no compromises. The colossal 11-inch, puncture-resistant, solid rubber tubeless tires provide excellent grip and control.
Incredible power and performance
Front and rear lights keep you safe and visible while you ride, no matter what time. However, we always recommend wearing a high-visibility jacket and helmet when riding, especially when approaching top speed. With a charging time of only 5 hours (with the fast charger), this powerful performance is an insane charging time for such speed and range. However, some reports indicate that the Dualtron Thunder can take up to 20 hours to charge without the fast charger! Although riders have the option to charge even faster with the dual charging ports; or save energy by choosing one of the 3 power modes.
Also includes several optional accessories, such as a waterproof phone case, fingerprint unlocking, turn signals, wireless phone charger, etc. Don’t get me wrong, this is one of the most capable electric scooters on the market, and it’s long past the “toy” stage. 56 mph is no joke; wear the proper safety gear and protect yourself.
Although it is also highly priced, it is a performant machine, more than makes up for it. Now let’s move on to the fastest top-speed section of this article.
As we all expected, the Dualtron Thunder takes the top spot in ranking the fastest accelerating electric scooters currently available on the market. Its two massive 2700W motors give the Thunder a total power output of 5400W and numerous pros over the others.
The Dualtron Thunder also offers dual traction, providing increased power and acceleration. The aluminum alloy frame helps shed some weight and keep the Thunderlight, but these performance features make the scooter slightly heavier than average.
Although this scooter weighs a bit more than the others, it doesn’t let that slow it down! Offering a top speed of 56 mp/h and massive motor power, the Thunder can go from 40 to 80 km/h in just 14 seconds. Honestly, the raw power, speed, and performance offered by the Dualtron Thunder are almost unbeatable, which is why it won first place in our fastest-best electric scooter.
Outstorm MAXX
Features
- A maximum speed of 56 mph
- Range of approximately 83 miles (38.5Ah battery model)
- Maximum weight of 175 kg (385 lbs)
- Charges in 7-9 hours
- Optional gel seat
- 11″ all-terrain tires
- Cruise control
- Fully foldable
- Regenerative braking
- Suitable for on and off-road use
- 3200/5000W models available
- Tackles slopes up to 30 degrees
- Choose from 3-speed modes and 2-power modes
- Ultra-bright LED headlights and colored sidelights.
At number 2 on our list, the Outstorm MAXX is undoubtedly one of the fastest electric scooters available. It boasts an impressive top speed of 56 mph, tied with the incredible Dualtron Thunder (excluded from the lists because it wins everything). Outstorm MAXX offers several models with different motor power levels, top speed, and range.
The most powerful model is equipped with a powerful 5000W motor, 800W less than the Thunder, and still more powerful than you can hope. Be sure to wear proper safety gear when riding at a slower speed because you’re traveling almost as fast as a car without a seatbelt!
The Outstorm MAXX Performance Scooter
With a top speed of 56 mph, you’ll have no trouble keeping up with the many cars that follow the speed limit on highways and cities.
The Outstorm MAXX takes about 9 hours to recharge and can go up to 83 miles on a single charge. That’s a quick charge time for such a large battery and motor, with most high-performance eScooters requiring at least 12+ hours.
The regenerative brakes convert kinetic braking energy into energy for your battery, helping you get the extra mile. Some might fear such 5000W power in mere mortals’ hands, but do not; choose from 3-speed and 2-power modes to best suit your skill level or mood.
Designed for maximum performance, wherever you go
On top of that, there’s dual engine control and cruise control. Road use has been carefully considered in the design of the Outstorm MAXX; ultra-bright LED headlights and LED edge lights help you stay seen and safe, no matter what time of day.
However, the lack of brake lights is a problem, so we suggest you always dress appropriately in high visibility clothing and wear a helmet. It is described as suitable for “rugged on- and off-road use,” which is also a perfect description of its design; it is rugged but carefully built for optimal performance and comfort. However, we insist you check your local laws to see if your area allows e-scooters on the road.
The high-impact PU suspension, enhanced shock absorption, and 11″ off-road tires ensure a smooth and controlled ride when you tackle any terrain. At the same time, the Outstorm MAXX’s powerful power allows it to climb steep terrain up to 30 degrees, almost double that of many conventional eScooters on the market.
This incredible performance is packaged in a neat, foldable frame for easy transport and storage. The Outstorm MAXX is one of the most powerful and fastest electric scooters in this review, if not the world. Let’s move on to the next on our list, the Qiewa Power, another aptly named scooter.
The Outstorm MAXX scooter comes at number two in our ranking of fastest accelerating electric scooters. This model would easily be number one if the Thunder were just a little less powerful, with its beastly 5000W motor. Such a beefy motor certainly puts the Dual on par with the Thunder, alongside several 3200/5000W models.
The big 11″ off-road tires greatly help grip, giving you an extra pro when you take off from a stop or make those turns. The Outstorm MAXX offers a similar acceleration performance to the Thunder, taking a few seconds longer in the same test.
Honestly, the Dual and the Thunder rivalry is almost too close to call to decide between the two. While offering slightly less power and the absence of a few features, the Outstorm MAXX is also a bit cheaper than the Thunder.
Although, at 45 kg, the Outstorm MAXX weighs even more than the Thunder, which affects its acceleration power a bit more. However, that doesn’t mean it’s not one of the fastest accelerating electric scooters on our list or available on the market today.
Turbowheel Lightning+
Features
- A maximum speed of 45 mph
- The full range of approximately 35-50 miles
- A full load of about 150 kg (330 lbs)
- Key security
- Fully foldable
- 3600W motor
- Superb suspension
- Dual hydraulic disc brakes
- Excellent performance for the price
- Front, rear, and deck lights 3-hour charge time (up to 80% with optional fast charger)
Last on our list of the fastest electric scooters of 2021 (while still keeping up with the others on the list) is the Turbowheel Lightning+. The Lightning+ features two high-performance 1000/1200W motors, which help propel this super-fast electric scooter up to 45 mph.
The Turbowheel Lightning+ is much cheaper than many other models on this list, perfect for thrifty scooter lovers. While it will still cost you a pretty penny, the Lightning+ is a great “budget” performance scooter, but its features and build quality are far from cheap!
Full of features
It offers a large spacious deck (with headlights), essential security, superb suspension, dual hydraulic disc brakes, full color LED dashboard, front and rear lights, and much more. On top of that, the Turbowheel Lightning+ also offers a decent range of 35-50 miles (tested at 20 mph in ideal conditions), with a maximum load of 150 kg (330 lbs), which is pretty impressive!
All that power is ready to go in just 3 hours of charging, which is fast compared to many other high-performance scooters; most often take more than 12 hours to charge fully. Thus, its decent range, high top speed, and fast charging make the Turbowheel Lightning+ an ideal scooter for medium to long-distance commuting. Or simply for the pleasure of a scooter enthusiast.
Like most scooters, the Lightning+ is fully foldable, making it easy to transport and store your super scooter. The overall build quality of the Turbowheel Lightning is exceptional and is certainly among the best on the market. While not the fastest electric scooter on the list, the Lightning+ gives more than enough; offering similar performance to the Dualtron EX at a much lower price, the Lightning+ is the perfect scooter for the price.
Third on our list of fastest accelerating electric scooters is the Turbowheel Lightning+. A decent-sized 3600W motor propels it to a maximum speed of 50 miles in just under 20 seconds of acceleration. While still relatively heavy, the Lightning+ is lighter than most (if not all) of the scooters on this list.
It weighs only 34 kg and can support up to 150 kg, more than four times its weight. This weight loss did convert into an increase in acceleration performance, reaching 0-45 mph in about 15 seconds, which was quite surprising given the comparatively low power of the motor.
Although the ever-so-crazy 45 mph top speed was indeed a thrilling moment, we weren’t expecting much. However, you should note that variables such as rider weight, terrain, incline, etc., will impact overall performance. Honestly, the Turbowheel Lightning+ offers nearly similar performance at a fraction of the price while remaining full of features.
A perfect option for commuters and more casual scooter enthusiasts and certainly still one of the fastest accelerating electric scooters on the market. Let’s quickly move to the next section of our review, the most powerful electric scooters.
Nanrobot LS7
Fourth on our list of fastest accelerating electric scooters is the Nanrobot LS7. The LS7 has a similarly sized 3600W motor, which propels it to up to 52 mph speeds! So, it’s safe to say that while the motor size is the same, the LS7 certainly offers more power than the Lightning+. However, the LS7 and Lightning+ are very similar, offering the same maximum load capacity of 150kg, motor power, and top speeds.
Those wondering what the real difference is between these two would be right to do so, and we’ll tell you: torque. The Nanrobot LS7’s torque output is insane, with enough power to tackle inclines up to 65 degrees!
This electric scooter’s performance lies in the design and the 3600W dual drive motor, which allows for both front and rear-wheel drive.
The big tires allow for better grip on the road, perfect for getting the edge in your unlicensed scooter races.
We would expect nothing less from the number 3 fastest accelerating electric scooter. Note: Drivers should check local laws to ensure their area legally allows electric scooters with this much power on the road.
- A maximum speed of 52 mph (85 km)
- The maximum range of approximately 100 km (62 miles)
- The maximum load capacity of 150 kg (330 lbs)
- Choice of the front, rear, or all-wheel drive
- Climbing hero – tackle slopes up to 65 degrees!
- 8-10 hour charge time
- 3600W dual drive motor
- Headlights
The Nanrobot LS7 is another key contender to be one of the fastest electric scooters of the year. It features two 1800W dual drive motors to give this beast a total motor power of 3600W, more than enough to propel it to a top speed of 52 mph. The dual-drive motor allows riders to choose between front, rear, and all-wheel drive.
This top speed is enough to meet speed limits on most roads, although we recommend wearing proper protective gear when riding at these speeds. Also, we urge you to check your local laws to see if your area allows e-scooters on the road. The Nanrobot LS7 offers a phenomenal range of 62 miles (100 km), making it one of the longest-range electric scooters on our list.
Stay seen and safe on the road.
The LS7 can handle a maximum weight of 150 kg (330 lbs). Unlike the other high-performance e-scooters on this list, the Nanrobot LS7 is not as suited for off-road functionality. Despite being equipped with 11-inch high-grip tires, it looks a bit small.
That’s not to say the LS7 doesn’t work off-road, just not to the same degree as the others. Headlights are included to help you see and stay seen, but there’s no sign of rear brake lights. So we insist that you wear proper gear when riding at high speeds or night; a high-visibility jacket, helmet, and gloves are just a few examples.
Become a hill-climbing hero
However, the real hidden gem of the Nanrobot LS7 is its insane 65-degree climb angle, more than triple that of most available e-scooters and almost double that of the Dualtron Thunder. Thoughtfully, this eScooter must have been built to take on hills because we’ve never seen any other scooter come close to that incline.
All this phenomenal performance, for almost half the price of the Dualtron Thunder, is ideal for scooter enthusiasts who want performance but want to save money. Not only one of the fastest electric scooters on the market and one of the best for climbing hills!
Qiewa Q-Power
Features
- A maximum speed of 56 mph
- The full range of approximately 56 miles
- Maximum weight of about 200 kg
- Fully foldable
- Motor 3200W
- Cruise control
- Weighs only 37 kg
- Energy-saving mode
- Front and rear lights
- Dual hydraulic brakes
- Dual loading interface
- 45-degree shock absorber
- 11-inch all-terrain tires
- Tackles incline up to 30 degrees
The fastest electric scooter of 2021, matching the Outstorm MAXX and Dualtron Thunder in top speed, is the Qiewa Q-Power. The power offers a top speed of 56 mph, impressive since its 3200W motor is at least 1800W lower than the MAXX and Thunder.
However, the Qiewa Q-Power doesn’t let that stop it, ranking high in the hierarchy of the fastest electric scooters on the market and offering enough performance for anyone. Plus, it takes about 7 hours to charge, which is relatively low compared to many scooters with similar performance that take 12+ hours.
This electric scooter is packed with features; it offers dual hydraulic brakes, cruise control, dual controllers, energy-saving mode, a dual charging interface, brake lights, etc. In addition, the Qiewa Q-Power supports a maximum weight of 200 kg, which is more vital than most e-scooters on the market.
All this is supported by its durable 37kg alloy frame, making it capable of supporting almost x10 of its weight. In terms of climbing hills and tackling terrain, the Q-Power also offers more than enough; it’s capable of propelling a 165lb rider up a 200ft hill and a 10% grade in just 7.5 seconds! Thanks to the engine’s power and those excellent 11-inch off-road tires.
With the shock-absorbing 45-degree dual suspension, tackling the terrain and off-road elements is a breeze and will never compromise rider control. It also features a fully collapsible frame for easy storage and transport and a kickstand for standing. Stay safe and visible at all times with super bright LED headlights and rear brake lights.
However, we recommend wearing appropriate protective gear (high-visibility jacket, helmet, gloves, etc.) when riding at night or high speeds. In addition, the Q-Power is one of the cheapest options while offering almost identical performance to the others. Qiewa claims that the QPower has an IPX5 waterproof rating, but they later pointed out that the IP rating is not “official.” However, Qiewa states that the QPower is waterproof and acceptable for light rain but does not submerge it.
With such explosive power and features packed into one model, it’s easy to see why the Q-Power is one of the market’s best and fastest electric scooters. It offers tremendous top speed on par with the best while offering a slightly less powerful motor at a lower price.
Overall, the Q-Power offers similar performance to the best on this list, so don’t let the motor’s power fool you. However, there’s no time to waste.
QIEWA Q1Hummer
The QIEWA Q1Hummer is a surprisingly small device. Relatively inexpensive compared to others on our list, yet “lacking” in some areas. A comparatively low top speed of 37 mph with a decent range of 65 miles leaves little to be impressed when taking on the Thunder. However, this is all relative to our list. Compared to conventional e-scooters, the Q1Hummer is most certainly among the best.
We find it fitting that the Hummer takes the 3rd spot on our list of the best electric scooters for climbing hills. Capable of conquering uphill grades of up to 35 degrees, tied with the Thunder, which is especially surprising as the Q1Hummer only runs on an 800W motor, more than x4 smaller than the Dualtron Thunder.
How QIEWA managed to design an 800W motor to propel riders at 37 mph is quite impressive. Additionally, the Q1Hummer has one of the highest maximum loads we’ve ever seen at 250 kg (550 lbs); variables such as weight, weather, incline, etc., affect overall performance.
We think the Q1Hummer is an underdog, offering IP65 waterproofing, cruise control, an incredible weight limit, brave dual discs, complete folding, and more. Learn more about IP ratings here.
The Q1Hummer also boasts an incredible maximum weight of 250kg, making it one of the best electric scooters for heavier riders. Not to mention it’s great for climbing hills, tied with our top pick, the Dualtron Thunder.
